Tao’s – the place for Asian Fusion comfort food.
Venture through Zurich’s old town and discreetly tucked away at the end of the alley you will find the entrance to this paradise of Asian-fusion cuisine.
With a cool bar & 2 floors, it’s the perfect place for a fun night out with friends.
If there’s one thing that stands out at Tao’s it’s its overwhelming coziness. Tao’s Asian décor and dimly lit dining rooms in a warm and relaxing atmosphere make it an Asian oasis in Zurich’s city center. In the summer, it offers an inviting, lush bamboo garden. The menu is proudly fusion, a mix of Asian and Western influences. Its international vibe, Asian décor and relaxed yet stylish ambiance make it a high end hang out for expats and city bankers. To top it all off, the service is attentive but not too over-bearing.
The starters consist of a selection of Asian inspired dishes such as Dim Sums, Spring rolls and Tuna Tartar, many of which may also be ordered as a main course. Zuri Girl recommends the Thai Curry Soup with coriander – it’s simply perfect for a cold day and will warm you up within seconds. The menu offers a vast selection of fusion inspired main courses such as a Tuna Steak or the Chicken Teriyaki served on a hot stone and you can choose amongst various side dishes. On the menu you will also find tenderloin steaks as well as a surf and turf alternative.
For dessert, the Lime Pie is ideal for sharing & comes with a delicious scoop of Pistachio Ice Cream, but if you can only pick one, we vote for the Bento Box – we won’t lift the secret of what is actually inside, but it is not to be missed.
The list of wines is well selected and offers a reasonable choice of wines by the glass.
Why we Love it
Tao’s is sophisticated and relaxed at the same time. Delicious food in a great ambiance – what’s there not to love?
Zuri Girl Tip
Ask for a table on the first floor of the restaurant. The interior is as chic as downstairs however it might be slightly less busy.
