December Things to Do

Glühwein, Ice Skating, Christmas Shopping….oooooh!!!!

December in Switzerland! 31 days packed with snow covered, carol jamming fun! In between Christmas Events and Christmas Markets in Zurich, here’s a few of our favorite Things to Do in December…

A Timeless Classic. The Zurich Opera House presents their rendition of the Christmas ballet, the Nutcracker and Mouse King.

Throwback Thursdays. The 1980’s British Band UB40 are making an appearance at Kaufleuten and we’ve been humming “Red, Red Wine” since we heard the news.

Shop till ya Drop. Or how about simply just take a break for lunch at the recently opened YALDA in Sihl City.

Volunteer at Google. Google is seeking people based in and around Zürich to sign up to participate in occasional user research studies. Visit their cool offices and get an early look at unreleased features in the pipeline for Google Maps, Google Calendar or Flights. Plus we hear thank you voucher gift cards are in it too!

Not Any Ordinary Sunday. If for no other reason, you have to go shopping atleast once on a Sunday in December simply because you can! That’s right ladies the stores are open on 2, 9 and 23 December.

Crafty Kids. Mags @ Academicus is hosting all sorts of fun, hands-on Christmas craft programs. Drop the kiddos off or get creative together making cards, gift tags, ornaments and more.

Swap your Coffee House for Birdhause. Birdhause, the social club and co-working space for women host a free Preview Week starting on 3 December.

Auf Wiedersehen 2018. The good, the bad and the ugly. We’re sure there was a little of each this year but now it’s time to say farewell, toasting the past and looking forward to the future! The sky explodes with fireworks on New Year’s Eve in Zurich and it’s one party you don’t want to miss!
