What are you doing for Swiss National Day?

Below are a few ideas in Zurich and beyond…

Swiss National Day Farmer’s Brunch
Farm to table dining – literally! For 25 years, on the 1st of August, 350 farms open their doors (or shall we say barns!) for a festive, delicious brunch and yes, oh yes, reservations are a must.

Swiss National Day @ Ballenberg Museum
The outdoor museum showcasing the country’s farming, history, and craftsmanship created a special Kombi Ticket inviting visitors to join them for lunch, music and a day spent exploring the 65 acre museum learning about the land we love.

Swiss National Day Brunch @Fork & Bottle
Enjoy American brunch classics like blueberry pancakes and pulled pork benedict paired with a Bloody Mary in the outdoor Beer Garden not too far from Sihl City, the perfect starting point for a day of bikes & hikes. Be sure to make a Reservations here.

Swiss National Day @ Landquart Fashion Outlets
The 1st of August is to be celebrated fashionably…and one of our favorite outlet centers is open even on the day when everyone else is closed. Perfect to catch the last sales of summer and spruce up the closet for Autumn.

Swiss National Day Fireworks
Complete your celebration of Switzerland with a BANG! Many towns celebrate early on 31 July, so have a look at this list of where some of the Firework shows will be happening and make it a fire-bursting weekend away.

Parade Down Bahnhofstrasse
If you don’t want to leave town, but eager to embrace the festivities, check out the city parade marching along with colorful costumes and traditional instrumental music followed by authentic Swiss meals at Burkliplatz.

Make it a loooong weekend
As if we needed another reason to love Zermatt??!! The car-free chic mountain resort town is hosting a street party packed with day to night food & fun so skip work Monday and make it a 4-day luxury getaway.

We ♥ the Silver Coast
The Wadenswil Schonegg loved by families is tempting us with a buffet, music and stunning mountain views – and just for fun, challenge your friends to a game of mini golf at their adjacent course to see who gets to pay the dinner bill!

Zuri Girl Tip…start your own traditions. COOP and many shops are selling Swiss themed plates, napkins, candles, flags, banners and more. Decorate the house, invite over friends, shop the local market for Swiss wine & food and challenge your mates to a good game of Swiss Trivia!
