Only an hour away be whisked 500meters above Lake Luzern in a funicular arriving at the Resort voted Best Hotel with a View just shortly after it’s re-opening.
With history dating back to the 1870’s, we get chills seeing how the old world charm is still radiating through the renovated modern resort which includes private residences, hotels, shopping, dining, wellness and a Health + Medical Center.
We had a chance to get an inside look and are excited to share the highlights…
The Alpine Spa
The 10,000 sqm spa with glass windows overlooking Lake Luzern features water beds, a relaxing lounge, cold & hot foot baths, cold & hot plunge pools including an outdoor pool flowing with natural spring local mountain water and a nap pod with massage & music features (oh my – can we have this for the office!!)
The indoor pool welcomes you with a splash and swim, but we’re just as happy cuddling up on one of the poolside chairs when the sun sets.
Wedding? Clients to Host? The Lakeroom Ballroom is gorgeous and we love that the chandeliers are from the original hotel but were dis and remantled to fit the new design, while the 2-level theatre with leather seating is ideal for business presentations.
Zuri Girl Tip: You’ll see Audrey Hepburgn flirtatious smile around many a corners…she was married at the mountain chapel
Dining is not just a 3x times a day routine for survival…it’s served exquisitely, romantically and with a bit of flair. Cozy up fireside in the open air lounge, book a private dining table, fantasize of historic romances by ooohing and ahhing at the original hotel dining rooms pots, pans and wood burning stove and have a night cap in the cigar lounge.
The Spices Kitchen & Terrace creates exquisite Asian dishes and did we mention there’s not 1, not 2, but THREE wine cellars – 1 for red, 1 for white and 1 for champaign. Why, of course, right?!
