Girlfriend Guide was created in 2011 when two “new to town” ladies met in a small Zurich cafe with a pot of mint tea and their mac computers with a goal to help women discover the city.

I’m Deja and since Autumn 2019, I took over Girlfriend Guide as an independent. My time is split between sharing inspirational stories via articles on the blog and spontaneous happenings on Instagram, all while raising my 5 year old son in the Suisse Romande.

A travel addict at heart and hospitality connoisseur by trade, Deja drives Girlfriend Guide’s creative design, brand personality and she defines a ‘Girl on Fire’ when it comes to launching special promotions like our annual Advent Calendar since 2012. With a degree from Cornell University and a CV of global 5-star spa management and development roles, she’s living her passion uncovering the gems of Zurich and the people that make them happen. Since 2017 she relocated to the Suisse Romande to raise her family, but she continues to drive the activities of Girlfriend Guide to Zurich and has ambitious goals to bring the brand to more cities in the foreseeable future.
Angelica Cipullo, Co-Founder (pictured right)
Passionate about gourmet food, adventure travel and her loveable family, Angelica is the glue that held Girlfriend Guide together by managing the daily operations of all things Zuri Girl. She left the security of the corporate world, working for global corporations and agencies for prestigious events including the Masters Tournament, the Super Bowl, NHL All-star Game and NASCAR races, to chase her dream of living abroad and starting a business in a foreign country. She is energized by exploring the city, meeting inspiring business owners and sharing these gifts with our readers via creative writing and over CHF 25,000 in prizes via contests and giveaways. She can be found enjoying the Badi with her kiddos in summers and a luxurious cup of hot chocolate in winters.
After 8 incredible years together, Angelica resigned from Girlfriend Guide in 2019 and the platform would not be where it is today without her.

With a background in journalism and a passion for travel, Jill made the move from Seattle to Zurich in 2013 for her Swiss beau. Her social media skills led her into a new career path in Switzerland for an international company. In her free time, Jill can be found strolling around Zürich taking photos for the Girlfriend Guide Instagram account with her french bulldog, or at a yoga or barre class.
After studying Marketing & Journalism and countless years as a corporate women, Leda’s heart stays connected to her Brazilian roots while she and her 15-year old daughter have fun living in Switzerland. She devotes time to being an Image Consultant & Stylist; Marketing for the Swiss Beauty Academy and all things Vegan…which she shares via Vegan with Style.

A corporate marketeer from Bangkok who turned into a housewife-cum-entrepreneur in Zurich. Fah’s hobby is writing travel articles and gastronomy. After living in Sao Paulo for almost 3 years, she published 5 travel books of which 4 are about Latin American countries. Her next goal is exploring the beauty and cuisine of Switzerland and Europe. In the corporate world Sarah works as a Head of HR for an international energy company. Sarah’s blog focuses on dining and wining, fashion and art in and around Zurich. Sarah is originally from Hamburg, Germany and can be found strolling around art exhibitions, trying out new restaurants and exploring the Alpine mountains on her ski’s or mountain bike.
An American actor, filmmaker, writer and artist who has lived in Zurich for nearly 6 years. She hosts the Zurich Film Festival TV show and is a social media and film consultant. When not watching and writing about film, she keeps busy attempting to learn to play new instruments as her four year old daughter has insisted they start a band.
After working for 10 years in the IT industry, Karishma is foraying into the field of social media and digital marketing with her start up – Wisteria Digital. By day she is an Executive Recruiter but by night she is exploring the best of what CH has to offer. After studying Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of Nebraska, she moved to Switzerland to be with her then fiancé, now husband.
