Summer in Switzerland is magical with all the city festivals and outdoor concerts. We recently checked out Festi’neuch in Neuchâtel and were excited to see such energy from the crowd! Fists pumping, heads bobbing, cold beer, lake access, and of course, festival food…Festi’neuch left us far from disappointed.
The Lineup: There are far larger concerts in Switzerland than this one (see our list of top concerts below), but that doesn’t mean a thing when it comes to the artists who perform. On Thursday, we enjoyed pop tunes from Lily Allen and rap from OrelSan. On Friday, a more sophisticated atmosphere was enjoyed with popular music from Supertramp’s Roger Hodgson and Julien Clerc. On Saturday, we checked out Bigflo and Oli and the oh so packed tent of Imany. Lastly, on Sunday La Compagnie Creole took the stage, as well as the popular Morcheeba.
The Crowd: No matter which music you preferred, there was a tent for you and a crowd that followed. The atmosphere was young and free with a clean, and funky vibe. Not a big crowd person? No problem. You could check out the silent concert on the lake with beach access to spread out a bit and chill with a range of music options on your personal headphone set.
Food and Drinks: Street food is the best, and we enjoyed everything from Indian to Italian, at reasonable prices. What’s a festival without good food? Right? Kebabs, hotdogs, curry, pizza, and more. With quick access to Neuchâtel city center and of course the lake, the location of this concert was truly ideal.
