The summer sun can be quite harsh on our skin. That’s why we asked the lead aesthetician at LABO Spa for her top tips.

A healthy skin routine can keep you looking younger, brighter, and healthier overall! Get your skin glowing with these 5 tips at home and supercharge your results with a professional facial…

1. Cleanse
Clean skin is happy skin! Washing your skin every morning and evening before bed is extremely important. It will help rid of excess oil, dirt, and makeup that has built up during your day. Buy a cleanser that helps get rid of dirt without drying out your pores! Consider a creamy cleanser with moisturizing benefits and nutrients.

2. Exfoliate
Exfoliating your skin minimises your pores, reduces breakouts, hides wrinkles, and can even improve your skin’s overall color…the tone of your skin will improve when removing those unwanted dead skin cells! 3. Moisturize

4. Sunscreen!
We all know it’s important. But how important? Removing the appearance of years off your visage important! Apply a broad spectrum sunscreen of SPF 20+ every morning before applying your makeup, or choose a day cream with SPF protection factor already mixed in. If you plan to be outside sweating or swimming during your day, bump up the protection factor to SPF 30-50 and you should reapply the cream at least every two hours. The suns rays are strongest between the hours of 10am- 2pm! Lather up and cover up as best you can.

5. Hydrate from the inside out
What you put into your body can have lasting effects on your body’s overall function and your skin’s health and glow. Best tip? Drink lots of water and maintain a healthy diet. Eat foods rich in Omega 3 and vitamin A such as berries, spinach, and nuts. Try to avoid excess drinking of alcoholic and caffeinated beverages because they actually have a reverse effect and dry out the skin.
