August in Zurich

Zurich…we love you. Late night sunsets make August one of our favorite months to line up the calendar with fun things to do and finish off summer with a smile!

Once in an (Expat) Lifetime… As this event only takes place every 10 years and lasts 10 days, there’s absolutely no way we are going to miss out even if it means a short train ride to our neighboring town, Baden. With outdoor cinema, live performance acts, concerts, childrens’ activities and more, grab a group of friends and head to the Baden Festival from 18 – 27 August.

Try Something New… Truth be told, we’ve never been here, but it’s called Restaurant AuGust so what better month than now to give it a try?! With most meats coming locally from Zurich and an outdoor terrace lining the adorable Renweg, all we need to decide is Friday or Saturday night??

Immerse & Explore… A tradition dating back 212 years, travel to Interlaken for front row seats to the Unspunnenfest celebrating from 26 August to 3 September. Selfie snap away with a background of traditional costumes, yodlers, folk musicians, shooting competitions, Swiss Wrestling Tournaments and of course a whole lot of Swiss cuisine.

It wouldn’t be a Zurich summer without… An annual standing ovation family event is hands down (or thumbs up!) the Theatre Spektakel. Along the glistening lake discover street artists, franc savvy free theatre performances and world-renowned ‘reserve in advance’ programs.

Triathlon Zuri Girl Style... We just heard of Wanderlust and it sounds so unbelievably cool! It’s a triathlon combining a 5K run, Yoga and Meditation with optional fitness courses, main stage DJ’s, organic food & bev and more. Sign us up!
