On the 10th of April over 100 women business owners will share their talents, products and services. It’s a franc savvy free expo dedicated to connecting, discovering and showcasing Switzerland’s female business owners to one another and to YOU.
Zuri Girl went behind the scenes for the Inside Scoop from 2 exhibitors and the Art Director responsible for this years visual concept.
Exhibitor Inside Scoop
Zuri Girl: What will you be sharing with visitors on the day?
Esther-Mirjam: At the Women’s Expo Switzerland we are presenting “Verband Frauenunternehmen” the association and network of female entrepreneurs. We will run a workshop on financial and social security since we plan to launch a pension solution for self employed business owners in late 2016.
Frederike: At the frederike asael photography stand you can discover how to complete both your online and offline profile through photography. I focus on professional, authentic photography and help women get their personal message across through profile photos. Of course, you will also find some goodies at our stand and a warm welcoming atmosphere.
Zuri Girl: What’s your top reason to recommend the Womens Expo to another female business owner?
Esther-Mirjam: The Women’s Expo Switzerland is the only place and opportunity to meet and be present with 160 other female business owners AND over 2,000 visitors who are actively interested in the exhibitors. Even more important seems to me the work Lisa Chuma is doing in advance to prepare every exhibitor and all the public relations involved.
Frederike: It’s a perfect platform to enhance the visibility for your business and network with like-minded women. You can be inspired by all the different businesses that women have here in Switzerland, and use the expo as a platform to have interesting conversations with women you know and get to know others.
Zuri Girl: Can you share a tangible example of a post Womens Expo result?
Esther-Mirjam: Our association gained many new members over the last three years directly at the Women’s Expo and shortly after. Some of our new members who joined later had one of their first life contacts with Verband Frauenunternehmen at the Expo.
Frederike: Sure, last year, a marketing manager of one of the big universities here in Zurich visited my table. Since then, we have worked together for a very successful poster campaign to sell their products to students.
Visual Concept Inside Scoop
We asked Simone Züger, Art Director of Studio Simone Züger – Art Direction & Design, how she came up with the visual concept for this year’s Expo:
“Be connected. We wanted to create a bold message in a playful way and not seen at female business events before. So I developed a key visual for all the communication devices like posters, flyers, facebook-ads and brochures to generate impact, attention and show female-power in a simple way.
The Illustration plays with men and female stereotype. The handshake, usually seen as a male gesture, in our case colored with red nails and a pink background, everything is said in this illustration: Let’s do it our way!”
