Ladies, meet Hugo.

Move over Aperol Spritz,
the Hugo is in town!

Finally, a refreshing summer drink has arrived among the likes of the Bellini, Mai Tai or Caipirnha and trust us ladies…the Hugo is here to stay, as the Aperol Spritz is sooooo passé.

We affectionately refer to this drink as a sweet ‘Prosecco Mojito’, as the ingredients include: Prosecco, 2 cl Elderflower Syrup, 1 Lime (quartered), 2 Mint Leaves, and 150ml Soda – all served up in a wine glass with ice.

Traditional bars are not so quick to offer the Hugo, as when we tried to order one at Kronenhalle, the server did not yet know what it was, and the Widder begrudgingly served it with Champagne… as Prosecco is most certainly not on offer. Upon receiving the order, our head bartender claimed the drink is just too trendy so he passed the drink request along to his second in command to artfully create…as you can suspect, it was indeed the best Hugo we have had so far!

Popular bar terraces dotting the city know Hugo well and are happy to take orders.

Cheers to Hugo!
