GG: Tell us about your brand name?
Pascale Cornu: Pascale is my firstname and Cornu is my maiden name. – I wanted my brand to be personal, intimate and unique.
GG: Tell us about the logo?
Pascale Cornu: My sister, Emilie Cornu, is the graphic designer behind my logo. We were looking for something timeless with character and finesse.
GG: How would you describe your designs?
Pascale Cornu: Simple and functional, with an emphasis on details. I’m working hard to find the finest material and the perfect shapes for comfort and modernity.
GG: Where are most of your items produced?
Pascale Cornu: In Banja Luka, in Bosina in a family buisness that works with high quality working conditions.
GG: What is your earliest memory of being inspired by fashion?
Pascale Cornu: Hard to say, maybe my grandma… who after having gone to tons of shops to find the perfect dress, went home to sew one herself.
GG: What is your fashion influence? Travel? People? Fashion Weeks?
Pascale Cornu: Mostly by nature and art – I wish I could travel more because it’s a very powerful source of inspiration. In fact, The Spring-Summer 2018 collection is inspired by a trip in Rajasthan I did in 2014 and invites the clients to travel off the beaten path.
GG: What is your favorite piece you ever designed ?
Pascale Cornu: A printed sweater. To design the print, to choose the perfect fabric and shape, it’s hard to process but then it’s a piece I can wear every single day.
GG: What are your favorite fabrics/textures?
Pascale Cornu: Quilted fabric – they are so soft and work as an armor on a woman’s body.
GG: Where do you source your fabrics and where are your fashions produced?
Pascale Cornu: Mainly in Europe : France, Italy, Germany and Switzerland.
GG: Can you give some fashion advice to our readers?
Pascale Cornu: “Stay true to yourself”.
