The playful fox hunt continues with the newest addition to the Foxtrail family: Lenzerheide!
We first experienced Foxtrail Zurich last year, and after 15 years of organizing fun urban scavenger hunts, the first ever mountain trail opened this June 2017…and we got a foxy sneak peek at the fun to be had. Here’s the top 5 reasons we love Foxtrail Lenzerheide:
With two trails to choose from, we really enjoyed the flat (and stroller friendly!) 2 hour Anda-Heidseetrail which includes some of the most unique gadgets custom built for the Foxtrail experience to help decode messages and tell you where to go next. There is also the 3-3.5 hour Muntanella-Mountaintrail which begins with a cablecar ride and promises a fun time exercising your legs and your brain!
The Foxtrail team devised ways to help you discover underwater messages, controllable waterfalls (that’s right, you make the water stop so you can read the message!) and talking benches (just sit in the right spot and the voice will clue you in to your next destination) The endless fun continues at each station and Foxtrail hunters of all ages will have fun with this creative adventure.
Whether you are enjoying a Foxtrail scavenger hunt as a family, with friends, or for a team-building event, the group must work together to decipher the clues…all while enjoying the breathtaking mountain scenery. During our experience, we were paired with a group of locals who actually live in the region and they had so much fun playing in their own backyard!
If you have not yet been to Lenzerheide, this is a wonderful opportunity to combine discovering the region with a fun adventure guiding you where to go. The Heidsee is a lovely lake where you can rent a boat, SUP or let the children play on the “abandoned shipwreck” playground. This destination is definitely one of our top recommendations for a family friendly getaway, and there is something to do for children of all ages.
We enjoyed staying overnight at the Hotel Lenzerhorn Spa & Wellness after our Foxtrail adventure and could not recommend the hotel highly enough. The room was very comfortable with generous closet space (traveling with kids can lead to such excess baggage!) and the children’s bed was already set up in the room for us, along with a kiddie-sized robe and welcome coloring kit. The very cool kids playroom downstairs, generous breakfast buffet and access to the swimming pool at the neighboring Hotel Schweizerhof made the experience oh-so complete! For a delicious slice of afternoon cake, enjoy the pastries at Café Senda next to the Lenzerheide Post Office, and for dinner we highly recommend an order of the regional specialty, Capuns, at the Schweizerhof.
