We read a beautiful quote months ago and could not wait to share it with you for Mother’s Day…
“Call your mother.
Tell her you love her.
Remember you are the only person who knows
what her heart sounds like from the inside”
Mother’s Day is a special time of year where we are encouraged to take a moment to celebrate the woman who gave us life. It is always difficult to find a gift for the woman who seems to have everything…so here are a few ideas.
For the Lucky Few: If you are so fortunate to have your mother here in Switzerland this Mother’s Day (either living permanently or visiting), treat her to a lovely Mother’s Day Brunch.
Why we Love it: It is such a treat to connect over tea, coffee, buttery croissants and sweet jams while sharing precious moments together in an atmosphere that is oh-so feminine. The best spot to take mamma is the charming Kafi Dihei….if you cannot get a table on Mother’s Day…sneak away any chance you can get this month! Just across the street is Bits & Bobs, an adorable boutique offering craft supplies and unique gifts (go now, as they will close their shop as of 3 June 2017 and just offer an online shop).
For the Delicatessa: Feed her heart with gourmet delicacies
Whey we Love it: Champagne, fine chocolates, rare honey and confiture, exquisite olive oil and balsamic vinegar sets…what’s not to love?
Where to find it: Globus
For the Hostess with the Mostess: Help her plan a professionally themed wine tasting party for her and her girlfriends with Sipster!
Why we Love it: Our friends at Uncorked recently launched Sipster to make party planning look easy with their ‘Party in a Box’ approach to professional wine and food pairing. Each box contains enough wine for your party, from 4-40 people, an entertaining tasting game, themed decorations (bottle tags, tasting hints, placards), food pairing suggestions with simply delicious recipes, and hosting tips to make your (mamma’s) party complete…just hope she invites you to join!

For the Adventure Seeker: 99.9 Ways to Travel Switzerland Like a Local, by Chantal Panozzo
Why we Love it: This favorite author once appeared on the cover of Blick am Abend as the American who saved Switzerland’s honor for her collection of personal essays, Swiss Life: 30 Things I Wish I’d Known. She is at it again with a new book highlighting the Swisser side of Switzerland with tips to go off the beaten path and follow 320,000 well-dressed Swiss cows instead. Discover bucket list tips, such as visiting a brewery-turned-spa, summer sledding and grilling sausages in the embers of a burning springtime snowman.

For the woman who prefers Pen on Paper: AMBITION OpArt “Water Lily” Pens
Why we Love it: If she is going to write with a pen, it should be the most beautifully feminine pen she has available to her fingertips. This fine Farber-Castell writing instrument comes in spring-fresh pink with a beautiful filigree design capped by chrome-plated precious metal. The “Water Lily” pen comes in four options: Fountain Pen (extra fine, fine and medium), as well as a modern twist ballpoint pen.
