He’s the Co-Founder and CEO of heidi.com Andreas Doering_heidia contemporary fashion brand designed with high quality materials that are ethically produced only in Western Europe. When not leading his team to develop 4 collections per year and presenting at prestigious retail conferences as an industry expert, he can be found driving one of his vintage cars with the top down on a nice day, and dreaming up the next big idea for his company. We caught up with Andreas to learn a bit more about what makes him tick…

Job Related

Tell us about your latest projects…what are you working on at the moment?
We have partnered with the Swiss Confederation for the Milano Expo 2015 – our second year at the Expo. Last year the theme was: “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life”. We designed all the uniforms for the people working at the Swiss Pavilion. We are very proud…this is a huge honor.

We are continuing our brand partnership with famous Swiss singer: Bastian Baker, who wears our collections on stage and in everyday life.

Personal

Tell us something most people don’t know about you?
I’m a huge fan of vintage car collections. My dream car? I have it…my 1962 Porsche.

Local Tips

Tell us about you out on the town…any favorite restaurants or boutiques that we should checkout?
I can tell you a lot about my favorites here in the French region of Switzerland, but in Zurich…I really like Bohemia, the coffee is very good. Also, there is a cool furniture shop, Time Tunnel, with like 10 different rooms filled with cool furniture and accessories, all very creative.

Motivation

Who inspires you, and why?
I am inspired by airports and train stations where there are hundreds – thousands of people walking around. I will see a haircut, or a hat from someone on the street that catches my eye and this can lead to many possibilities.

Advice

What advice would you give to your younger self?
Start earlier. Start immediately…don’t think too much, just do it!
