Where history meets modern.
Where sexy meets subliminal.
Where your mouth meets deliciousness.
Opened in February 2015, but built in 1857, Restaurant Münsterhof fits perfectly in the glamorous Paradaplatz scene with it’s creative menu designed by award winning Gault-Millau Chef and decor inspired by the building’s artwork “Love Garden”, painted in 1390.
Gather the gals for a Champagne & Tartare Girls Night Out.
2 floors with 2 totally distinct vibes.
Every nook & cranny was designed with inspiration from the 1390’s painting “Love Garden”.
The Ground floor is all about “the man”. Dark tones, square edges, cooper bar and minimal design are the scene.
The 1st Floor is all about “the woman”. A customized hourglass wine mantel, corset style chair legs and curves everywhere possible compliment the warm colored fabrics and vibrant pink & purple roses.
The cooper (very heavy) menu is only 1 page making it not too overwhelming and clearly featuring the house specialties: Meat, Fish & Vegetarian Tartar available in different portion sizes.
While the Münsterhof signature made with Beetroot, Carrot & Radish kept our eyes wide, we had no regrets when the colorful Asiatisch Meat, prepared with Ginger, Miso & Radish greeted our plate.
While we didn’t try it, there’s a “Modern” Meatloaf on the menu that goes by the name of “Ofenfleischkäse as well as the famous Helvti burger.
Forget a waiter who brings water when you sit down…Restaurant Münsterhof waiters greet you with a bottle of Ruinart Champagne – now that’s our type of restaurant!
The Wine List features USA & European Wines and while some famous producers are in the mix (Americans love the Sine Qua Non), Restaurant Münsterhof selects small wine producers to help keep costs down, evident in the Champagne list starting at only CHF 89.
The staff know the menu inside & out and answered all our 1,000 wine questions and then some so don’t be shy!
Why we Love it:
Françoise Wicki, The 16 Gault-Millau Chef known for her Burgers at Helvti Diner and 5-star cuisine at Helvetia Hotel created a truly unique menu that puts a fresh spin on the Zurich dining scene.
Leave room for dessert. Zuri Girl couldn’t resist the Crema Russa and drools remembering the spin-off on the ever-so-popular British dessert, Bread & Butter Pudding.
In warmer weather, the doors & windows open up for an indoor/outdoor feeling.
Zuri Girl Tips:
Ideal for bringing out-of-town guests, it features Züri Gschnätzlets (a MUST for tourists)…sits in the buzzing Paradaplatz…and with no more than 10 tables per floor, makes an intimate setting for catching up with old friends.
Outdoor Champagne & Tartare start at noon on the 13th of April for Sechseläuten. Grab the gals & go!
The upstairs is perfect for a birthday party, corporate dinner or baby shower seating up to 30.
